2010 was when it all started and Hatch House is and always will be where it all started; our home from home. A beautiful 17th Century house and home settled into the gently rising side of the vale, with vistas over the valley and the county of Wiltshire.
The concept in 2010 was to create an open air evening of international ballet and dance within the 17 th century Dutch walled garden. This wonderfully romantic idea was quickly swept aside by Mother Nature who (sometimes) can lay the best laid plans asunder.
We were extremely lucky and honoured to have the amazing Laura Morera and Ricardo Cervera from the Royal Ballet for this inaugural year. However the last minute transition of the performance area into a frame marquee reinforced the need to find a more refined solution for cover within the walled garden. However the memory of a sublime performance was what he audience took away with them and without doubt made everyone return in their droves in 2011.
